In Loving Memory of Zena

Zena's Approximate Age: 2 ½  yrs

About her:

Zena had come into our rescue from a breeder who had kept her in a crate and used her to have litters of puppies to profit off of. She was in our rescue only a short period before finding the perfect, forever, loving family she finally deserved. Originally, she was so cautious and did not know how to react to most of what we take for granted everyday. She literally had to learn everything about just being a doggie from her adult age. In a short period, she was quickly overcoming all of the obstacles that stood in her way since her life had begun when she found her own family. They worked with her and gave her so much unconditional love and attention. She became a member of their family since the first time they all met. She had a mom, dad, three brothers and sisters and a boxer sister all to learn to love. She loved to play and would wake up everyone with lots of kisses every morning. She got to cuddle in bed with the kids taking turns with them every night. She gave love unconditionally since the moment I first met her when she became my foster. She was such a cutie pie and would just want some attention.

Unfortunately, she had started to get sick and even with the help of experienced veterinarians she continued to decline over the matter of 2 days. They ran every test imaginable and paid whatever was needed without question. On Tuesday, July 21, 2009 was the saddest day we have experienced when we got a call saying that she had passed away. Her family was devastated as well as everyone in our rescue. We just could not believe that our sweet Mamma Z was gone. I know in my heart that she is waiting for us at Rainbow Bridge but it is so sad. She really had no life for what we estimate to be about 2 years without ever knowing how to just be a doggie. She got the best family we could have ever imagined for her and within a few short months, which were the best months of her life, her time was cut short.

In memory of Zena, we are taking donations to try to help cover some of the excessive medical bills that her family are now faced with. This family truly loved her with everything they had and would have done anything for this girl.  Any donation, large or small would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made in the following ways:

Please let us know that the donation is “In Memory of Zena”

ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE!

We are always in need of donations. We will accept anything. We are in need of dog food, crates, collars, leashes, toys, shampoo, garbage bags, paper towels, bleach and baby wipes. We are also collecting used inkjet cartridges and cell phones that we can recycle and get money for. Gas cards are always appreciated as we spend a lot of money on gas for transporting, home visits and vet visits. We will also accept items that we can place for sale on EBAY to raise funds to help with our outstanding medical bills. Monetary donations are also graciously accepted.
